He learns she was not responsible for most of what Andrew did … Gabi regrets she did not go to the police when she knew he had kidnapped Melanie and fears there is no way around it. - Mel wonders how Chad is doing. Dan replies he did seem sorry but he asked him to give her space. Mel agrees with the idea and implies she would like more space from everyone. Dan gives her her phone from Chad’s. She thanks him with a tearful embrace. - Chad does the talking and understands why Nick might not want to let him off the hook. However, things appeared to be a certain way and he snapped. Then Gabi defending him made it all the worse. Nick will not tolerate any criticism against Gabi. Chad urges him to meet him half way. Nick quips that would be half crazy. He insists he and Mel were okay. He suggests Chad stay away from him and he will stay away from him too. He returns to the pub and Chad walks away. - Sami insists to EJ she is trying do the right thing. He casually wonders for whom. Why, for everyone! He gets sarcastic. She assures him this is not easy. He is glad to hear it. She admits there is something between them but … with Rafe things are different. Their date last night felt like old times. He is still the same man she fell in love with and married. EJ argues he is not the bad guy and this in not black and white. In addition, Rafe is NOT the same man she fell in love with. Sami wants to know what he means. EJ points out he fathered a child with a woman she despises. Sami seems fine with that now. EJ laughs aloud. He reminds her that he will never forgive her for their affair and will keep reminding her how he cannot forgive her. He will eventually pull the rug out from under her. Sami reasons he came back. EJ drawls they all do where she is concerned, like moths to the flame. She muses then they get burned. Perhaps. However, there is a difference. EJ boasts he likes the heat and accepts who she is. There is no forgiveness necessary. He gets closer to her, teases her with an almost kiss , and then moves his mouth to her forehead. When he pulls back, Sami opens here eyes and blinks. Exit EJ. - Rafe promises Gabi he loves her and she is not alone. They embrace and he adds they will fix this. He warns her not to tell anyone anything and announces he is getting her a good lawyer. Gabi woefully admits she already talked to a few people. He asks her not to tell anyone else and departs, with what he believes to be all the facts. But Gabi was not finished … - Chad shows up at Mel’s door, begging for 5 minutes of her time. She woefully lets him in and waits. He explains he apologized to Nick. He is sorry he messed up. Mel asks how he thinks he messed up. He mentions Nick but she sternly reminds him that he tried to handle the situation with Gabi. He wonders if she would want Gabi in her life after what she did. No. She does not want her former friend to go to jail but still cries she was trying to take him away. Chad hopes she believes he still loves her and was trying to protect her. Does that Matter? Of course. More than he knows. Chad concludes that means they still have a chance. Mel sighs with discord. - Bo catches up with Hope, who has summoned him to the popular town square sofa. She climbs on his lap and informs him she is free for a few hours. They kiss and he updates her on his chat with Caroline. He had no idea it bothered her so much having two sons on the force. Hope updates him on Roman telling her he wanted him to stay. Bo is more interested in how she feels. Hope only wants his happiness. “I love it when you dream big.” Perhaps that is what he needs. He grabs her back on his lap and roguishly drawls all he needs is this. They kiss like they mean it. - Mel declares that after careful consideration, she has decided to go visit her mom in Europe. Chad exclaims it is a great idea. Mel is baffled by his response. - Aproned Gabi joins aproned Nick at the pub for her shift and smiles he looks better. He is and quickly shares what Chad had said earlier. Gabi now wants to share something significant with him. “I want you to know what I did!” - EJ is back at his desk. He stares at the photo of his children and notes they need to open mommy’s eyes about Rafe. He now calls his man Howard. “I need you to take care of something for me …” - Rafe is on his phone at the coffee house, leaving an urgent message for Justin to call him. Sami approaches with a smile and teases him about preferring police station coffee. He snaps it is not a good time and walks away from her, still busy with his phone. - Gabi has just finished telling Nick her tale which explains why Chad was so mad. He agrees it was bad but at least she has owned up to what she did. He wonders why she felt the need to share this with him. Gabi's big brown eyes widen. - Chad agrees visiting Carly is an excellent idea, to help Mel distance herself from everything in Salem. He offers to be ready by tomorrow. Mel clarifies. She is going to Europe alone, without him! - EJ meets suited Howard at the park. Howard remarks their associates had wondered when they would be hearing from him. EJ chuckles. This has nothing to do with his business with his fatha. In fact, he is managing everything now and things will be different than they were with Stefano. Howard pledges his continued loyalty. EJ admits there is someone who has been interfering with the family. It has to stop now. Howard wants a name. Rafael Hernandez. Howard scoffs he knows men who would fight for that privilege. “You want him dead?” EJ grins diabolically. - Sami follows Rafe around the coffee house. When would be a good time to chat? He grumbles he does not know as he is presently in the middle of something. This is not a good time. She assumes he means he does not have time for her. She presses him to put down his phone. She had assumed their date last night was something. Preoccupied Rafe is in no mood for a discussion. He agrees it was nice, but there is no need to get ahead of themselves. It was a date, that is all! Sami, not aware of the issues he must deal with, misreads his foul mood and her blue eyes are filled with disappointment ... END |
